Newly Released Videos on HKNC Website

Just Released!

The Helen Keller National Center announces two new training videos for deaf-blind individuals and family members. These videos were developed and are presented by deaf-blind individuals and are fully accessible with captioning and transcripts.

1.  “Advocacy in the Deaf-Blind World (ADBW).”
This first video provides an introduction to several strategies that have been proven to be successful in advocating for access to one’s environment.

Look for additional advocacy related videos to be posted in the near future that include the following topics:

Communication
Laws and the ADA
Print Media
Transportation
Support Service Providers


2. Strategies to advocate for and maintain SSP services

This is the first video in a series that is focused on providing information to deaf-blind individuals who would benefit from accessing SSPs. This first video explains what an SSP does and his/her role.
