Please Touch the Art Opening Reception

  • TCC McKeon Center for Creativity (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Yes, you really can touch all of the art in this exhibition! Join us for an opening reception 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 16 celebrating the return of the popular exhibition “Please Touch the Art” after a pandemic-related hiatus. The exhibition engages all five senses, with a special focus on visitors who are blind or visually impaired. “Please Touch the Art” is for anyone who wants to experience art in a new way – or who has had to suppress the urge to touch a painting at a museum! Enjoy snacks and activities, listen to endangered sounds, and find out if you’re a “supertaster” at this fun event. Free parking is available in any TCC lot.

The exhibition was formed through an open call, and thirty percent of exhibiting artists identify as blind, visually impaired, DeafBlind, or disabled.

Many thanks to our partners, the Tulsa Community College Foundation, the Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges, NewView Oklahoma, Oklahoma School for the Blind, and especially Jeri Cooper of Jeri’s House.

 Pearl Pearson's Legal Story

Pearl Pearson's Legal Story

Something you do NOT want to miss!
QAST CEUs are approved.
RID CEUs are pending.

Come and hear/see Pearl Pearson's Legal Story. Educational, informative and heartfelt. We will hear the frustrations, the struggles, strife and heartache. This legal story will educate us, to become better advocates, to know what to expect and what we can do to navigate the system. This story includes Pearl's words of what he went through from the moment the police pulled him over, his struggles and frustrations as well as the families and all they went through.

Thank you to the Pearson Family, for opening their hearts, and advocating/educating this forward. We know it's not easy, but we are thankful to them for their love of wanting others to understand the difficulties that can be faced in the reality of a legal system for a deaf person and their family.

Start of Make a Difference Mondays with TSHA

The Tulsa Drillers and their generous sponsors offer tickets through non-profits like TSHA. May 14 is your first chance for complimentary tickets through TSHA this season.

May 14 is the first of several "MADM" dates that will be available this season. They are: May 14, June 18, July 9 & 23, and August 27.

While TSHA has requested tickets for all of these games, we never know IF or HOW MANY tickets we will receive until shortly before each game.

If you are interested in receiving tickets for any of these games, please submit:

·    your name

·    which date(s) you would like to attend

·    the maximum AND minimum number of tickets you could use

·    whether there are deaf / hard of hearing people in your group

Be advised that submitting a request does not mean that you WILL receive tickets, since the supply is limited. You will receive an email letting you know IF and HOW MANY tickets you are getting. These will need to be picked up at TSHA. If you cannot attend after getting tickets, let TSHA know ASAP, as we have a waiting list.

Submit ticket request by emailing demerson@tsha.cc
