February is American Heart Month, a time when all people can focus on their cardiovascular health
American Heart Month takes place every February to raise awareness for cardiovascular health. Heart disease is responsible for one in every four deaths and is the worldwide leading cause of death. Every year, it kills more people than all forms of cancer combined.
Join us as we talk about heart health topics and learn how we can move our bodies in a healthy and accessible way.
SHEP is having a Pumpkin Patch meet up to just catch up on sun stuff and introducing new faces. The event will be held at St Matthew United Methodist Church. Located at 300 N. Air Depot Blvd, Midwest City, OK 73110. We are meeting at 2pm so bring your hot coffee, tea and yummy treats and lets have some fun.

Nyle DiMarco, deaf rights advocate, 2015 winner of America’s Next Top Model and 2016 winner of Dancing with the Stars will keynote the 12th annual Ray, Mary & Nita Giles Symposium for Citizenship and Public Service Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. in the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Ballroom, located in the Student Center.
The symposium is free and open to the public. An RSVP-only reception with DiMarco, heavy hors d’oeuvres and wine will be held in the USAO Ballroom at 5:30 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to have their photo taken with DiMarco and will have reserved seating at the symposium. Cost to attend is $25 per person and registration is required by Oct. 1. Reservations for this opportunity to mingle with this distinguished speaker can be made online at usao.edu/giles or by calling 405-574-1349.

Kemah is located just outside of Houston along the ocean. It is home to one of the most fun and amazing boardwalk experiences in the United States. The boardwalk has restaurants, an amusement park, and shops. The best part is the boardwalk runs toward the bay where you can feel the sea breeze! It will be awesome to gather and socialize here!

Deaf Community Coalition of Fort Smith
Come out to this relaxed monthly event, where everyone socializes in sign language. All skill levels welcome, from deaf to beginning sign students. You'll find us in the Food Court... eat or not, as you like. There tends to be between 60 - 125 people that turn out... sign classes are invited!
See friends old and new, and practice your sign skills.

The aim of the Sight Hearing Encouragement Program (SHEP) Deaf-blind Symposium is to provide opportunities for persons with deaf-blindness to have their own forum to learn from others with own personal experiences of deaf-blindness and to self have the possibility to share own experiences. We strive for these conferences, where people with deaf-blindness can share their own experiences with others from all over the nation.
We’re inviting our brothers and sisters from all over to attend! The conference will be from Thursday, October 18 through Sunday, October 21, 2018 held in Hulbert, Oklahoma.
